Wigan’s grassy knoll at Springfield Park.


That grassy knoll was very wet that Thursday evening we beat them in the play offs😀

It wouldn't be allowed now health & safety! It rained all the way up the M6 hence the mud bath and the first 45 was pretty depressing losing 2-0 until Macari gave them them a half time rollicking!

Our fitness levels the last 20 minutes won that.
Wigan were dead on their feet, we were counter attacking with purpose and energy.

Great memories Dukey! I don't know if you can remember but a few Town fans had to get escorted out of the home end having paid on the night to get in there and hoping to keep quiet but got rumbled.

I remember our car being stuck in the car park and a few of us bounced a car out of the way to enable us to start the journey back home.🤣
