I’m on holiday on Saturday and will be away when we get to vote, I’ve registered for a postal vote (over a week ago) and I’m now getting jittery that I can’t vote the scummy cunts out.

Any pointers on my options please? Am I able to sort out a proxy from abroad should I not be able to get my shit sorted in time?

Deadline for postal voting applications is today so I guess they'll start sending them out from tomorrow?

Thanks, guessing this will be tight. I’ll see if I can find out more about a proxy just in case

They've been in the system for the last couple of weeks, with strict 'next day delivery' instructions

I've never understood why someone gets a vote when they don't live here.

It used to be that you had to have lived here fairly recently, but I think they've changed it in the last couple of years to having ever lived here. I don't really mind them having a vote, but the constituency thing is a bit odd as we don't have a national vote. Maybe we could have a "Brits abroad" MP for all of them.

Kier Starmer was in Morrisons in Eldene yesterday and got a roasting off some woman. Couldn't even answer her questions and he's going to be running our country. God help us !

I must say, the election timing makes a whole lot more sense when you realise they'd all put bets on it. Ivan Toney, meet Rishi Sunak, I think you'll get on well...

As a British Subject, I can return whenever I want, so I presume it's because of that?  There was a limit of 15 years I think, but that has been scrapped now.

Because as a British citizen it effects us immigrants overseas, how do you think Brexit, the pound crashing, passport control, to name but 3 impacts me daily?

The pound crashing? For the last 6 years it has ranged between €1.12 and €1.16.  Hmmm  Not sure how Brexit affects you if you live and work abroad unless you are moving goods? Have you got an example?

I get what you mean, but the logic would hold for the entire world to get to vote in US elections!
