I remember once season gazzzaa freaking out about this time of year (or later) that we were going down because we had no strikers. He even went to the length of predicting how the season would pan out match by match, he had us finishing last. He was not the only one as others were acting in a similar vein.

We went up us champions.

If we only signed Byrne, Luongo and another kid or two I'd agree we could be struggling this coming season but assuming we sign at least a couple of experienced old heads (one in midfield, one at the back) we should be mid-table at worst with the players we have surely? We just lack a bit of leadership and crucially a bit of pace

McCormack, may have made a few rash challenges, but his aggression is what we will miss. His fighting spirit and wild burst through the center is what Ill will miss the most.

As long as we sign a few tough players and not all young kids, then we should do ok.

A goalscoring midfielder in a central position would and should be at the top of Kmac's list i would have thought.

The way he seems to set up his teams it would appear a strong midfield next season will be paramount.

Can we at least wait and see who we sign and how the first few games of next go, before saying we're in a relegation battle.
Its a personal opinion mate seen it happen to the town on so many occasions we cut our budget ,players leave and we end up fighting for our lives but thats life footballs a funny old game.

It would be rather embarrassing for us to be relegated with a reduced budget which is still possibility 4 times that of others.

The usual merchants of doom who regularly inhabit the "Thisis...."  site have gone into a tailspin of negativity again today.  Bless them!

I particularly enjoyed the comments abusing Jed for only offering McCormack a 1 year deal despite it stating in the article that he's been offered a 2 year deal now AND he hasn't actually left yet...

Thought McCormack was a decent player for us and we will miss him.

The fact that it seems very few players want stay here is some what alarming.

As with Flint who and what we replace McCormack with will be key. Naturally I'm not going into panic mode yet - it's June but when the time comes we're going to need a lot of signings and good ones to.

Surely the only ones to have chosen to leave are Flint and Macca, both of whom are inevitably leaving to go to clubs with bigger budgets than us, so not particularly alarming to me.

I've seen it happen as well mate. Hey if we get relegated we get relegated. But we'll go up as champions next season.
