Hope apart, can't really argue with the departures. Can't see Grounds being offered a new deal in Sept. Not sûre about PP. Stuck with some lameos though, Conroy, Baudry and Curran.

This says Pitman had an option which I guess has been triggered:

Really?

I thought even if they signed an x-year deal in September it would expire end of July like other people’s.
Only ever known short term contracts to end during the season.
I’m only going by Wiki. Says the same for both players. Signed a 1 year deal 17 September.

Shame Hope has not been retained

Surprised he wasn't made an offer on the basis that we actually paid money for him....

In that case I can only assume they’ve played the certain amount of games required to automatically trigger another year?

....or that Wikipedia is wrong

I also think that J Grant would do a decent job in div 4

Probably don't want to have to pay any more money post June than they have to, can see no signings until the start of the season if nothing changes with regards to ownership.

Lower league footballer, principally.  I have not seen his CV so can't vouch for any other skills.

You could be right as Wiki also says Joel Grant signed a 1 year deal on 19 Sept and he’s been binned.

FWIW trying to look on a bright side...

Whilst most of those defenders were pants this season they have done it before in L2 (with a manger benefiting from a clue) likewise with a set up that plays to his strengths PPP could do a decent job in league 2.

Problem is they are all 2 years older and have god knows how many additional injuries under their belts.

Looks like Anthony Cheshire found out of his release via Twitter.

So this part of that statement on the website was obviously fake news;

"The following players have been informed they will not be retained:"

Albeit to look on the less bright side, the fact that this has been done so quickly would suggest that no new managerial appointment is imminent....
