My memory of Carnivale was that I liked it but that it turned into a bit of a dogs dinner. Looking back it was probably the result of the writers trying to truncate the story line so that it concluded in season 2. Same thing happened with Jericho. Sort of the reverse of the problem that Heroes and Lost had, where both had at least one season where they looked like they were marking time because they didn't know how to finish them.
Wasnt the writers strike going on around that time? i remember Lost and Heroes going abit sci wiff around that time.

Downloaded Seasons 4 and 5 of the simpsons, with seasons 6-9 on the go currently. It's easy to forget how good it used to be

I'm currently re-watching them too (in order, because I'm just that anal). On season 9. It used to be so good!

The Challenger was fucking great, if a bit over-dramatised. Superb example of the scientific method being THE most important tool humanity has ever developed. And screw politicians, seriously.

Really enjoyed The Challenger, missed it first time round but caught it on iPlayer yesterday.

Was only 5 or 6 at the time of this but remember watching the news with my dad and its piqued my interest ever since.

Guess it highlights the pitfalls of massive government agencies who take risks to chase funding. Hopefully the private sector don't fall into the same traps.

I must admit that I wasn't so aware of the attempted cover up.

Was there any attempted cover up? Came across to me that it was a handful of incompetent people working in broken management structures, more of a cover their arses than a full blown cover up. The whole incident is now used a lot as a case study in areas such as whistle blowing, communications and group decision making - as similar disasters often are. Just a pity it always needs something bad to happen before people start doing something about things they know are wrong and they shouldn't be doing. Unfortunately most people choose the easy life instead.

Anybody else watch The Mimic (BBC3 I think)?  Had me chuckling with relative frequency.

I've been meaning to watch it having felt sufficiently intrigued by the adverts but haven't got around to it yet. Don't think it's on BBC3 though. If it is then I immediately withdraw my tentative interest.

You're quite right, it was channel 4

Caught the first 2 episodes of Parks and Recreation season 2 last night on bbc 4... think I'll have to acquire season 1 pretty sharpish and catch up, it was great.

If anyone watches The Voice on catchup, what is the song playing in the background when the girl with the funny eyes is introduced (starts at 45.34 in).

Revolution - whilst I quite enjoyed it I think deep down I know that it was poor enough for cancellation without massive improvement.

I felt a bit uncomfortable when the blind girl was on and they couldn't see. Probably me just being too sensitive. I'll go slaughter some newborn lambs later to make up for it.

It's very good. Halfway through season 5 in America at the moment, and it only really gets better

They haven't even got to the best of Ron Swanson, Bert Macklin or Jean-Ralphio.

The lucky bastards have so much to look forward to.

Also, I thought Revolution was far too rambling. It won't last.

It's Adele; "Make you feel my love".
