Boss on More4 earlier this week

As a sucker for a US political drama I enjoyed the first episode, Kelsey Grammer is pretty impressive.

Last chance to catch The Challenger, the BBC's great feature length drama about Richard Feynman's efforts to uncover the scientific and political truth behind the challenger disaster, before it gets taken down from iPlayer on Monday.

Gonna check this out tonight.  Is it decent?

I found Netflix a complete Cunt to cancel, ordered a new Cash Card with a different number in the end.

Downloaded Seasons 4 and 5 of the simpsons, with seasons 6-9 on the go currently. It's easy to forget how good it used to be

Eclipsed only by South Park in the animated comedy stakes. Not a fan of Family Guy, must be the only person on the planet who doesn't like it.

I like Family Guy but it can be a bit hit and miss at times.

I'll give it a go, its available through Sky on demand.

I watched The Challenger last night. Thought it was a good portrayal of Feynman, if a little over dramaticised.

I watched The Challenger last night. Thought it was a good portrayal of Feynman, if a little over dramaticised.

The generic hero-walking-away-on-white-house-lawn ending did make me facepalm a bit. I also think Feynman as a personality in real life was more permanently enthused than he was played in this.

But it ticked so many boxes on my drama thumbs up lists I was willing to forgive it:

True story
Tragedy everyone knows but a story behind it not everyone does
Detective story
Political cover up (I love all programs about political cover ups)
Maverick lead character with brilliant scientific mind
Ethical and scientific flaws in pompous management exposed by brilliant scientific mind
Twist at end

British made programs like this come along on TV more rarely than Halley's Comet passes over the earth.

Still available until 10.30pm tonight for anyone interested.

I must admit that I wasn't so aware of the attempted cover up, so the programme did add that educational aspect for me.

Brilliantly, as it finished, I flicked over to BBC Four to find A Beautiful Mind starting, so had an evening of Nobel Laureates.
