James Dayton's goal for Oldham sticks out in my memory banks. I don't do many midweek Swindon games but I remember that goal and not a lot else about that evening. Andy Williams actually scored a very good goal that evening also that I had forgotten about, but for whatever reason the Dayton one remains.

We tried to sign Lambert before he went to Rovers but we baulked at the £200k fee that Rochdale wanted. 2 years later and he was sold to Southampton for £1.5m! |

Nope. Lambert to Swindon from Rochdale was pure internet rumour that gathered pace. Never any truth in it. |
