Ultimately TV companies will pick games that will draw in the biggest audience. For a lower league club Wrexham currently have a 'big' global appeal and so were always likely to feature. I guess it's the same way Man United and Liverpool always seem to be on the TV third round matches, even when they are in generally unglamorous ties.

Yeah that's true. It's a bit sad that the FA Cup is so far down the priority list for the bigger clubs. With that said when we played Man City they still put out a bloody good XI such is the depth of their squad.

The FA Cup lost its soul the year they let Man Utd skip the tournament to play in the World Club Cup

They had a covid outbreak so had to play whoever was available, which ended up being mostly first choice players.
