Ah apologies I didn't read what you had written properly. Of all the American States, I haven't been to, places down south like Nashville, St Louis etc would be high on my list. We were due to do that when Covid happened, so something for the future I reckon. It will be interesting to get your feedback when you get back.
Will let you know what I think! Nashville, by the way, is my favourite place in the world. Its so much fun.

My first visit to Nashville had me thinking, thank god the Brits haven't found this place yet! It is a party town and the Brits would make a right old mess if they ever realised it, en-masse.
Cattanooga is nice place, just over half way from me and Nashville. Smaller, but lovely setting in the mountains and has a history with Swindon, both being railway towns. There is a tree dedicated to Swindon in one of their parks.
Boston is the closest I have been to a European City since either visiting the USA or living here. Lots of winding streets, tight, older buildings and lots of history. You just have to come and expect to be told about the bad Brits, always with good humour though, never with any lingering spite (guess that's what happens when you vanquish the evil ones).

Yup, the Brits would be awful in Nashville. Such an obviously fun place and we’d, en masse, find a way to make it significantly less fun. My abiding memory when I first went was walking past Kid Rock’s pub, which was rammed to the rafters at about eleven on a Sunday morning with a band playing on each of its four or so different floors, being high fived by every American that heard my accent. Zero threat, 100% decency. A lot of people rave about NYC but for me it doesn’t hold a candle to Nashville. I’ll have to find the Swindon tree when I’m there in a few weeks, didn’t know about that, thanks for the tip!

To be fair it is a pain.
Even being reasonably tech savvy I must have 4 or 5 parking apps on my phone, which are useless without a phone signal.

Just eaten my first persimmon. Thought they were big tangerines when I bought them!
Tasty!
