Was it started by a passenger?

Quote
"The bus was situated at Broadway during a changeover. There were no passengers on board and our driver acted calmly and professionally in alerting the emergency services who attended the scene and extinguished the fire."

The spokesperson added: “We do not know what caused the fire and will assist the investigation including a review of CCTV footage.”

Wonder what caused that huge fire at Luton Airport’s new multi storey car park. Demolished it!

Looks like it may have  been an EV or two that took out Luton Airport car park 2!

A recent study by US insurer, AutoinsuranceEZ found that hybrid cars had the worst fire record, while EVs were the least likely type of car to catch fire. Hybrid cars had 3474.5 fires per 100,000 sale; petrol cars had 1,529.9 fires per 100,000 sales and EVs had just 25.1 fires per 100,000 sales.

Weirdly, the Fire Service said it was likely a diesel car caught fire. Diesel is way less flammable than petrol.

Again, though, that’s just an individual’s opinion. There is no alternative data presented.

They are not making a positive claim, so need present no data.
The source of AutoinsurnaceEZ is the NTSB data...however:

There is no NTSB database that tracks highway vehicle fires. We do not know what data AutoInsuranceEZ used for its research, but it did not come from an NTSB database.

The source has been disproved and we can move on

You would have thought a definitive collection of data wouldn’t be difficult. Wonder why there isn’t - or, at least, not one I can find.
