I'm venturing into London tomorrow on the train & tube for the first time since COVID. I'm a little apprehensive.

Yeah, that's understandable.
Took a taxi between mainline stations in London until recently.
Agree with PF, made a few trips on the tube in the last couple of weeks and it's nowhere near pre pandemic levels of busy.

Looking forward to train and tube in October. As well as plenty of walking around the place.

Listening to Dave Greenfield's last keyboard arpeggios and JJ Burnel's rumbling bass on the final Stranglers album. Forty four years of listening to their music - Wish it would never end.

Super, super fucking nerdy, but the sim racing team I'm a member of, a bunch of guys who I've known since Forza 2 in 2008/9ish, have become the esport affiliate of a real world race team, and our logo is currently on the side of an LMP3 car which is racing at Le Mans this weekend. Bananas.

Picked up two dozen medium sized eggs reduced to 45p per Dozen yesterday on my travels. That’s the Christmas pickled eggs sorted out. Now for the shallots.

We went about two weeks ago. Train and Tubes were fine. Can’t be said about tourist areas such as regent and Oxford street.

The train up to Paddington was fairly quiet and most people were wearing masks. Mask wearing seemed to be pretty non-existent once I got into London though. It didn't really put me off, apart from one fella on the tube back to Paddington last night who very clearly looked ill and was coughing but had no mask on.

Still, back on thread topic, I had a good weekend and first tour of Lords.

I don’t drive a lorry and I certainly don’t mix my pickles 😉

Peter Hook (New Order / Joy Division bassist) was on 6 music yesterday and said Burnel was the inspiration for his Bass playing style.

Only for me really this but doors starting to open for my business. Been 18 months of absolute shite but really starting to see the tide starting to turn with travel and now even starting to get corporate business travel opportunities and the chance to quote a few professional sports teams for their travel.
