Squire comes out of his shell and starts showing what he can do.
Which is largely trying to emulate Led Zeppelin

John Squire's guitar work with the Seahorses at festivals was sterling.
Sounds like you’d love York if you love the Sheds and The Seahorses. John Squire saw Chris Helme busking allegedly. Sheds were always knocking about town back in the day and occasionally YCFC.

Plus, we have a pub called The Stone Roses dedicated to the band. Not sure too many in there would argue the Second Coming is superior 😂

Wasted Little DJs by The View
Day We Caught The Train by OCS
This Song Is About You by The Enemy
Nuff said for some alternative (OCS aside) Indie bangers...
Seen all of them live so probs a bit bias. Still banging tunes. Lyrically speaking the all speak to proper working class British Culture and working class british culture speaks back.
Simon Fowler from OCS is a pretty decent bloke in my experience too.

Indie bangers you've listed there. Similar music taste as me. Curious if you've listened to DMA's? One of the few more recent bands that have really grabbed my fandom.

Can vouch for that; mate of mine was a massive OCS fan; (10s if not 100s of gigs); sadly passed away last year; band sent messages to his funeral; and signed stuff to auction off at the wake for the local Hospice.

Is that really a question?! Yep of course. No one would really know they are Aussies much like not many would know The Fray are straight out of Denver! I'm a big fan of Blossoms in terms of recent Indie bands who are basically just themselves. Decent lads. Lot of time for them. Obviously they have a chunk of Stone Roses influence but manage to keep their sound their own. Something early Oasis struggled to do - Liam Gallagher really just wanted to be Ian Brown. I'm glad he found his own voice and they found their own sound. Some feel Blossoms is a bit too "dreamy" but I love a bit of synth and keys so you'll find me leaning against a festival tent stilt, slightly pissed/merry listening to Circa Waves and Milky Chance too. Enjoy a bit of Catfish & The Bottlemen, Royal Blood, Biffy and Cage The Elephant too. But my music taste is pretty eclectic tbh; can easily find me listening to Prokofiev or Einaudi as well as Disturbed, Audioslave and so on Can vouch for that; mate of mine was a massive OCS fan; (10s if not 100s of gigs); sadly passed away last year; band sent messages to his funeral; and signed stuff to auction off at the wake for the local Hospice.
Pure class. Sorry for your loss man. This is for your mate, one of my faves. Life is a circle - so here is The Circle

'Fare you well I'll carry me away And sing to those I know Upon their birthdays...' Gin Blossoms were good! 'New Miserable Experience' an awesome album, which I've listed to for the first time in about 10-15 years because of this thread!
Also reminded me of the Lemonheads and this awesome song:
