I did it last year aged 59. Can recommend it. A lot less stress. Good luck.

What's the hardest bit after worrying about money and how much you have for non essentials etc

Same age as me and something I often think about

I’m 57, in a fortunate position that I can afford it as long as I don’t want to buy a Ferrari any time soon

I’ll have to go to 67, however, I intend to carry on working. My Mrs is 7 years younger and we won’t be able to retire at the same time and I don’t intend to vegetate for seven years Monday to Friday waiting for her to come home from work. Besides I’m going to be spending the cold winter months travelling anyway in warmer climes, she can join me for a few weeks if she likes or stay here and freeze if she wants to. When I’m to decrepit to go anywhere she can do what she pleases, I’ll be away with fairies by then.

Have a couple of friends who have retired, both said the most important thing is to not get stuck doing the same thing everyday, but to have a plan & do find/plan to do different things

By the time I'm 60 I plan to have a semi-passive income on the go where I can just boss my minions around for an hour or so and then fuck off to the pub or beach or whatever. I've got 15 years to make it happen.

I will have to work until the end of my natural life to fund my lifestyle and pursuits.

Funnily enough, I am currently awaiting some test results which could substantially impact upon my future plans.
