Courier companies needing signatures for parcels even though they deliver through normal working hours and nobody is likely to be home. Even if you kindly ask them to leave it at a designated spot and tell them that you take full responsibility if something happens to the parcel, they always just leave a card and fuck off. Useless policy. Just fucking useless.

Agreed! There are a few that will leave it re-delivery if you sign a waver form on the back of the "card". Most don't though.

Its OK if the depot is in town, less so when you have to drive to Bassett, Chippenham or beyond.

To widen that one out - estate agents who ask the following questions, in this order:

Agent: Do you and your partner both work full-time?
Shears: Yes we do.
Agent: And are you free tomorrow morning at 10?
Shears: No - we'll both be at work.
Agent: [shocked voice] Oh - right.

To widen it out further - estate agents who do not do weekend or evening viewings for working people.

Oh, and British Gas, who are currently one hour eight minutes late for their time slot to check my boiler.  To be fair they had a very small window to hit - 8am-1pm.  It's fine though, because I rang them a few minutes ago (for the third time today) and they are "on their way".  Well that's OK then.

I'm angry today.

EDIT - Using a day's leave - and I don't get many - to wait for some incompetent twat who has been "on his way" for over six hours.  Where the fuck is he coming from?

Overuse of the word 'community'.  Biggest bug bear from the last few days is the 'black community', which appears in newspaper articles everywhere.  There is no 'black community' in the same way that there is no 'people born on a Wednesday community'.

What people really mean when they talk about the 'black community' is 'black people'.  Only 'black people are appalled by the recent violence' is more difficult to say because it sounds like you're categorising/pigeon holing and speaking for everyone with that skin colour...so out comes 'community' to save the day.
Spot on.

Their league is now one of the best in Europe. So it wouldn't be an awful move. Which club want him?

I know. Yodel who used to be DHL have closed down their depot in Swindon, so the nearest one now is in Gloucester. Takes the piss, it really does.

Cant' remember what they're called but they're owned by a billionaire. It's not one of the Moscows or St Petersburg though.

That's if they even attempted delivery at all. The "but the driver put a card through the door" doesn't wash when there was blatently no card put through the door.

Have you had to collect anything from the CityLink depot in Bassett? No signs for a collection point or anything, you basically have to hammer on the warehouse door until someone comes out.

To widen that one out. Most Estate Agents. Most recruitment agents. Talk about money for doing practically nothing.....

Yes, there is an unmanned reception bit and a bell to ring. The first two months they were there it was murder trying to get anything from them (1-2h hour waits to find parcel, etc).

They recently signed Zhirkov from Chelsea, so must have big ambitions.
