OK, I can appreciate a good film as much as the next man, but I still fail to see why this industry Prize Day makes front page in all of the newspapers. Over-hyped doesn't even get near describing this.
And as for the speeches...for God's sake, get over yourselves. You don't govern, or save lives...you act. You tell stories. In the grand scheme of things, it's really not that important. If the lot of you disappeared off the face of the earth tomorrow, the rest of us would muddle through I reckon. Next time I see an actor giving an address like a ****ing elder statesman, the TV gets it.
