In light of recent governmental activities I thought that stood for Northern Irish contribution?  Cheesy

Is it illegal for estate agents to 'invent' other buyers when you've put in an offer on a house to try and bump the price up?

Put offers in on 2 houses with different agents and within less than 30 minutes another 'offer' had been received on both houses. Quelle surpris!

Yes - section 2 Fraud Act plus Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regs. Can also be banned from operating as an Estate Agent if convicted.

Problem is proof. Not enough to just suspect. Trading Standards need some level of evidence before they will act - which means dodgy agents can get away with bumping up the price (and their commission).

The recent shift in politics, I'm not sure I get it.  It seems the left is now well off and attempting to rule the world for corporate greed and the right wants to do well for the down trodden man, provided they are white and invest in things like infrastructure while placing barriers to trade in the way and protecting jobs on the home front.

Isn't the latter more left leaning? and the former the sort of thing a good ole fashioned capitallist would be up for?
