I used to work for the British Council in China, we had a bomb drill which involved going down 28 floors worth of stairs on foot in a non air conditioned stairwell whilst if was 45 degrees outside. It took me a few days to recover.

When I was at the college which is no longer there, we had a fire drill and the meeting point was in the car park right in front of the college.
Taking into account the amount of glass at the front of that building and the fact the car park is well full of petrol filled cars - it didnt seem like such a safe option to me...
You're too sensible for this forum DV....it's obvious that the buildings near the bus station are built of plastic and glass with miles of wiring...if that lot went up you'd want to get as far away as possible asap.

iOS7. It hurts my eyes and doesn't seem to add much. Sure some things are cool, but now the 3 phones on my iTunes account all have to get their own iTunes/Apple ID so we can use iMessage and Facetime. It's cunty.

Went to buy tickets for fulham v Cardiff in the neutral section, yet I have to become a member at fulham at a cost of £20 to do this. Surely if I'm a neutral, becoming a member of fulham neutralises my neutrality?
Annoying as I need 5 tickets yet can only buy 4, so another of my neutral friends would have to become a member as well!

The retard who tailgated me driving a dark coloured Focus in the outside lane between J16 and came off at J15 and got a little pissed off when I hit the brakes. Had the cheek to mouth profanities and engage in hand gestures a member of the royal signals would have been proud of at me as he slipped from lane 3 to 2 to 1 then still going strong up the slip raod. Knob head, if he wasn't trying to intimidate me in the first place I would have happily let him past. Now about that new law on tail gating that the uniformed tax collectors were going to clamp down on.....

Dad had to go back into hospital today, and what should have been quite a simple visit turned into a stressful nightmare.
His GP arranged an ambulance - although not an emergency he is unable to travel sitting up in a car. The ambulance never arrived. After 4.5 hours the ambulance trust admitted they had forgotten. After another hour they said it was too late on a Saturday evening to tie an ambulance up for a non-emergency, and I would have to take him myself. By now he was very uncomfortable and anxious and puked all over the inside of my car.
Got to A&E after 9pm. Just starting to hit the Saturday night rush, and dad still not a clinical priority, so not seen by a doctor until almost midnight. After the really positive experience a couple of days ago this couldn't have been more different. 12 hours from first contact to getting a catheter blocked by a bloodclot replaced, for a guy in his 80's with with a long list of medical condidtions.

Don't suprise me Wiggy. My dad was turned away from the doctors the day before he passed away because he didn't have an appointment,to be fair he refused to go to the hospital so it wasn't really the docs fault. All i can say is i hope he turns the corner and gets better...and he is lucky to have you to help him. Just imagine how stressfull it is for old people who have no one to help them...all the best to you Wiggy and i really hope that your dad gets the help he needs.

Hope your father is feeling better wiggy. If it's any consolation, these things don't just happen in the UK! My wife's grandfather was in extreme discomfort for days before finally agreeing to see his GP who told him that he should expect to be ill at his old age and sent him home. Eventually he ended up in hospital having been unable to piss for days.

The completely one sided and unfair refereeing in my son's football match this morning. I've never seen anything like it and hope I don't have to again. It was disgraceful for under 10's football and some of our team were in tears at the end of the game due to his behaviour.
Two of our players ended up going off injured due to nasty tackles that he gave a drop ball for. The home team equalised from a penalty that was laughable. Every time one of our players put in a tackle he blew for a free kick and he spoke to a couple of our players in an appalling and quite threatening manner.
The icing on the cake was when he blew the final whistle when we were about to shoot on goal. The laughable thing was the bloke is apparently a qualified referee. The fact that he literally ran off at the end of the game when several of our parents crossed the pitch towards him to make their views known says it all. The team involved should be thoroughly ashamed.
The return fixture when one of our lot referees will be interesting to say the least!

Superb, fair play to the ref I say, he was no doubt getting abuse from moron parents stood watching. I hope the police are out in force for the return fixture, sounds like it could get nasty.
