May have to resort to naga chillies at this rate. Had a lamb tikka chilli massala last night with about ten whole green chillies in and although hot, it wasn't unbearable.

My home made chilli has now got to the point where I'm using hot chilli powder, caynenne chilli pepper, kidney beans in chilli sauce and 5+ red chillies and it's still not hot enough.

You want some of these: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trinidad_Moruga_Scorpion

Last time I was in America I went to a chilli festival. The professional eating blokes, who spend their lives deliberately eating the hottest stuff avaliable, were all in tears and half of them dropped out after about fifteen seconds.

Am I alone in not liking very spicy food? I like spicy food but I find that a lot of dishes don't really taste of anything, just hot.

I am a little bit of a wimp thought

Love hot food but it needs flavour too. Chuck some cumin in your chilli sam.2 parts chilli to 1 part cumin.

Yeah, it's all about flavour, some of the chillis people have bred are stupid hot, but have very little to no taste. The Scorpions are supposed to have a kind of sweet+sour taste to them- not that I've tried them of course...

I'm not a fan of major-league-spicy stuff, I even have a soft spot for a Korma once in a while, but I do like a nice mouth-burning now and again.

Do you still "suffer" in the morning though?

The sole reason I stopped eating hot, hot, curries was the morning after.
Fine going in, but just unbearable coming out.

Salt-garlic too i'm sure. Guess I must bow to your chilli immune taste buds then. Tonights vindaloo was hot as fuck for me and borderline too hot

Recovering alcoholic. My wife is cruel huh?

Joking aside, I am not really sure why. It might be the meds I'm on but they never used to stop me from at least the occasional drink, now I can't drink a pint without feeling nauseous and getting a blinding headache.

Just heard from some town fans who went today that the O'Neils in Kings Cross refused to serve anybody wearing a poppy.
