Oceana where we normally go on a monday, has some cunt from Geordie Shore appearing tonight.

I think that explains why we're not attending.

Though the pub was mentioned at some point.

Avram Grant sticking his oversized nose in.

"Nobody thinks that John Terry is a racist so the FA need to leave it," Grant told BBC Radio 5 live

Nobody? Perhaps you might want to ask Anton Ferdinand for start...

Pleb-gate.

Or more specifically, the (mainly left) individuals demanding public money be spent on an inquiry as to whether or not he said 'plebs.'

Who gives a flying fuck?! He gobbed off, apologised publicy and privately, the apology was apparently accepted. Good god.

What is the origin of the word pleb? I use it all the time, didn't realise it was ever offensive.

Not hugely, but it exposes the fact that the Tories are largely a bunch of public school twats who look down on the rest of us.

Apparently this should come as a huge surprise to us. It's a complete non-story but quite a funny one.

It's a roman word 'plebian', which means 'commoner'.

I remember using it at school although it was used more in the context of 'dickhead' than anything.

It is if you're an ex-investment banker on the right wing of the Tory party.  The left were always bound to jump on this, and use it to back up/reinforce their view that the Tories are the party of privilege.  Reformers like Cameron have tried to present a conservatism as a friendlier force, but the party's opponents will use this to suggest that, once you scratch the surface, the 'detoxification' is just a gloss and that they haven't changed since the old days.
