I quite like the yank players these days, but hate their support. And the way they put their hand on their heart during their shite anthem.

The amount of police resource and air time being given to the 'missing' 15 year old girl is a bit ott.  It's not as if she's been abducted by a stranger, she's chosen to run off with the teacher (who is clearly thick and likely to end up in prison).   The authorities knew about them, which surely means the parents did?

But she's a 15 year old minor. I guess the family just want to know she is safe in the first instance. We've no idea as to whether there is reason for cause for concern about her welfare. Any teacher doing this kind of thing is somewhat sick.

I don't see anything wrong in spending time and cash looking for someone suspected of chid abduction and statutory rape.

"Statutory rape"

I for one salute the bloke for not giving a flying fuck and filling his boots before he goes to prison

Come on.

This may take a sinister turn but at the moment it's a silly bloke who has run off with an equally silly teenager. A week or 2 of holding hands, shagging and hiding from the inevitable shit storm isn't the end of the world.

Of course, the fact that I don't have kids so I couldn't possibly understand will always be levelled at me by the parental masses of the TEF.

At the end of the day, none of the European authorities give a monkeys - that tells you it's own story.

I don't think you have to be a parent to realise that what the teacher has done is legally and morally wrong.

The French haven't got involved because in France neither has committed an offence. The legal age of consent in France is 15.

The thing is, the girl is probably just as willing/culpable as the fella, yet she'll get a rollocking from her parents and a few visits from a counsellor whilst he spends a bit of time at Her Maj's pleasure.

She willingly went granted, but given her age she isn't as culpable as he is.

And rightly so.  We are talking about a teacher, a married 30 year old teacher. That is a position of trust and a job that require some kind of aptitude. We aren't talking about somebody with mental health issues here. Or a case of a 16 year old boy and a 15 year old girl.

It takes two to tango, but the reason its illegal is because mentally at 15 the law decides you are not ready to make the decisions.

But to be honest, a teacher with a 16 year old pupil would be nearly as wrong.

Under safeguarding legislation anyone who is in a position of "trust" would be commiting an offence if they were with someone under their care up to the age of 18.

The teacher and girl have simply fallen in love it would appear. It is illegal in the eyes of our law but i sympathise to a point.

Brilliant.

I understand the whole morally wrong issue and yes, it is illegal. But, i'm sure there aren't many 15 year old virgins left in this country. She wanted to go with the guy!
