Expect you have plenty of time to enjoy them if you take an extra week off work for every 7 weeks of the year...

What the fuck are you going on about now?

The fucking procession of stupid attractive people in stupid sponsor vehicles blaring out loud music before the torch bearer ran past me in Camden today. It was 6:45am, I do not want to 'show your olympic spirit by dancing'. Oh, and this next bit goes to every football club around the country-

Put the fucking cheerleader pom-poms down.

Oh, some kid in a Reading top taking part in the junior STFC summer football trials they do. Generic Premier League shirt-wearers is one thing but this was a bridge too far for me.
I tried to be sick on the young lad as their group walked past but nothing came up.

...and you'd be gutted if our own gates went up after getting promotion next season as well?

After Reading's last brief stay in the PL there was a noticeable increase in Reading shirts in my area. With their drop back to the Championship and our success in L2 there was a decline in Reading shirts and a nice increase in STFC attire. I hope the kids stick with STFC and don't switch back to Reading just because they're back in the PL.

No, but its the "I've supported Reading for years" crowd, when they've clearly not given a fuck.

I think most of the kids wearing Reading shirts in the Swindon area are going to have some sort of Reading family connection.  One of the next big towns you come to after leaving Swindon, so it stands to reason that quite a lot of people are going to have family in both places.  I'd have thought relatively few people, least of all kids, are going to wake up one morning and decide to start following a new football club in the Prem just because it's only 3 or 4 junctions up the motorway.

Need to be careful to avoid being hypocritical when it comes to new fans.  If we do make it to the Championship, we are hopefully going to pick up a lot new fans who are probably already following us in some form...but the promotion will be the spur that gets them coming along more regularly.  We need to welcome this, which is why the 'glory hunter' tag annoys me a bit...at least when Man City/Chelsea etc. are not concerned.

And anyway, there are plenty of Town fans in Reading as well - so it cuts both ways.  I personally know at least two, and there are others on here as well.  I don't see what the big deal is.

As above - they may well have followed them passively for a long time, maybe getting to a couple of games a season - but now they want to go along more often.  What's the problem?  It's exactly what we will need to do in Swindon if we get back in to the Championship.

I think Ardilles makes some valid points, anyone that bothers to support a club that they have a link to or is local above any of the top 6 needs to be welcomed.

My next door neighbour is a plastic Reading fan. His shirt is often on the washing line. My kids should use it as target practice but he's actually alright.

That stupid fucking sound that plays every time there is a replay in the Team GB game, no need.
