Shit, that’s who we’re with. Better be prepared for the thud on the doormat then.
I don't even think we are using alot of water either, granted we did have a dripping kitchen tap for a couple of weeks before I fixed it but still. We are well under the national daily average of 2 people (301l) so god knows how they work it out. Having just spoken to Wessex Water our monthly fee can remain the same only if I pay off what we owe to them in a one-off payment. So it looks like I will have to do that then.

Reading that some report recommends the state pension age be raised to 71 if born after 1970
No doubt written by someone with a nice tidy pension so they can retire early!

Governments hate pensioners and this Labour one is the worst. All you hear is about improving the living standards of ‘working people’. Anybody else can go hang as far as they are concerned.
Already a disaster.

Fuck off. You can't do that now. We are in our 50s FFS. No way to add another 4 years to the pot

Everything they say is about working people, everything they do, not so much. Everyone's getting poorer at the moment, bar a handful at the very top, and as usual everyone below is pointing fingers at each other rather than looking up. Country is in a tough spot to be honest, lots of debt, not a lot of growth. Not sure I'd want to be in government right now.

This has been in the post for years, I sit firmly in the age range affected and TBH have never really expected to get much if anything of a state pension when/if I retire? What I don't really get is whilst working till one is in their early 70's possibly works for a desk jockey like me, how is that going to work for someone doing a pretty tough manual job, mind might be sounf at 70, but body? Governments hate pensioners and this Labour one is the worst. All you hear is about improving the living standards of ‘working people’. Anybody else can go hang as far as they are concerned.

Working people will include pensioners going forward, as noted above this has been in the post for fecking years so not sure if it can really be hung at the door of the present government entirely, plus added to that is a lot of this is only coming about because the previous government royally fucked up the national finances and this lot are having to try and tidy up the mess.

That yarn is always spun. No government generates income, that's down to business and the people.
