Does it upset people so much that an automated train announcement is asked to be more inclusive?
Well exactly, why was the they so upset about an announcement?

I'm sure it's been on here many times but middle-lane merchants are absolute wankers.
However, the introduction of four lane motorways has changed all that. They are now third lane wankers and have created two motorways in one. I'm sorry to say that I go through on the inside.
I can use any of the four lanes whenever I fancy, I can also own and brandish military grade hardware, so I'm not so sure I have a point worth making.

I might want to be known as a smurf, where does it end? Train announcer "Welcome aboard this train people". The bigot.
The train announcement could have said "We'd like to welcome you all aboard" problem solved. How does that transfer to individual welcomes, say a receptionist at a hotel? "Your room is ready sir" or "your room is ready ?"

Technically, they were only welcoming aboard the lowest of the landed gentry, so the vast majority of the train were being ignored unless it was a train full of people off to play with WG Grace

At the risk of stating the obvious - bisexuality is where you have to pay for it, pan sexuality is a peculiar activity involving kitchen utensils. (copyright - my Dad, 1978) I'll get me coat. *Apologies in advance for any offence caused, especially to any curious Chefs.

What about the cooks?
I knew I would offend someone - OK, apologies to the chefs, sous chefs, cooks, KP's, burger flippers, waiting staff and those with a healthy, or indeed unhealthy, interest in cooking and kitchen activities/untensils in general, however they may identify themselves. Coat now on - going to the pub,

There is a sort of serious side.
The use of language can sometimes be to put people in their place, to belittle them. In that event I think activism is called for - sudden and lasting change is helpful.
Then there is language that is simply being used for ease, and comes from tradition, with no intention of harm. Sometimes it will be language we gradually adjust and change, specifically because cultural norms change. Ladies and Gentlemen - a phrase that is quite new to the English language relatively speaking. One that has already begun to erode anyway, because the old aristocracy has eroded over time.
There are times where Chunkhair's Hobodan response are needed, and others where bygones can be let bygones. As pointed out, plenty of people get far too animated on the latter, on both sides of any debate.

The world has gone fucking PC mad. I couldn't give a shit if people have a preference to be non-binary, but don't use it as an excuse to look for things to get offended by at every opportunity. Non-binaries are turning into the new vegans or religious nuts..
I wonder which public loo would be chosen?
