Wouldn't it be great if there was a new stadium for both footie and speedway.

It would make more financial sense for the stadium to be used several times a week to generate spectators. For speedway, it would mean a big and fast track, which is much more exciting than the little tiddlers. Putting it somewhere accessible could make it a big draw and a national stadium potentially.

I know that wouldn't be particularly popular with some in town fans, but as an out of towner, I could see the attraction.

As for the annoyance - The fact that both my favourite speedway and football club could both be going to the wall!  Sad

Nah

The stands would be too far from the pitch, especially at the ends.

Have a look at Central Park, Cowdenbeath FC for this very reason. They have a stock car track around their ground.

It did, but in modern times fans hate it, see the fuss about West Ham moving to The London Stadium!

Old Wembley and Eastville were awful fan viewing experiences. Wembley less so because almost every seat was miles from the pitch but was more acceptable as it was always an "event"  but at a tiny ground like Eastvile it was terrible, awful viewing experience.

I freakishly broke the middle finger of my right hand yesterday - it was mosquito related.

Apart from my jaw when I was a teenage goalkeeper it’s the only bone I’ve ever broken.

Living in Manchester, I tend to go to all the games up here but, when Rotherham moved to that athletics track in Sheffield for a season, I just couldn't be arsed. Didn't the old Wigan ground have some sort of cinderage around the pitch or is my memory more fucked than I would wish?

Halifax also had the banked speedway track around the pitch
