Tyrone Mings going for £8m just a few years after leaving Chippenham for £10k. I know we have been stung before but how is not compulsory that there is a sell on clause when a young player leaves to a higher league club. This could have set Chippenham up for years. baffling and wrong in my eyes. If it was compulsory it would only ever benefit the lower league club, if the player turns out shit nothing lost on them
Where's the attraction in taking a punt on cheap youngsters if you have to give up a load of your winnings if they pay off??

The attraction is that you have a brilliant player that cost you fuck all. If you gave away 10% of profit to the lower league club then the other attraction is 90%!

RE: Chippenham and Mings
It's kind of difficult for a Non-League club at that level. Chippenham can't afford to put all of their players on the sort of contracts that result in firm transfer negotiations taking place.
Tyrone Mings was actively attending trial games and Ipswich pretty much did Chippenham a favour by giving them what they did. That won't stop the Town board from ruing this - just 5% would've been era changing for them.
Same happened to Maidstone when Fulham sold Chris Smalling to Manchester United for £10 million.

This bloody fanziapp thing the club are using instead of just posting news on twitter/fb. If you've got something you want me to read/engage with/buy just post it where I'm looking, don't make me jump through hoops of Yet Another Social Media Platform. Like the world bloody needs another one anyway. Just post the damn news directly on twitter or don't bother.
I downloaded it, then deleted it. Load of shite.
