Exactly this, the thing that most annoys me with football now is the fact that many in the media proclaim the greatest ever as anything since the inception of the premier league.

It was like the Leicester fairytale as the greatest football achievement ever, completely neglecting the fact that a team from not far away did the same & also win two European Cups, something that Man City are still yet to achieve

To be fair Leicester winning the title is probably the greater achievement because the PL and CL has concentrated wealth into such a small number of clubs.

If you compared Forest's wage bill and transfer dealing to Liverpool's or Man Utd's in the era of Clough's titles therer probably wasn't a huge differential. Now the top clubs' turnovers totally dwarf the rest of the PL clubs.

The GOAT debate makes no sense to me.  Who was a better musician - John Lennon or Mozart?  It's a question you'll never be able to answer.  Just need to accept that they were all supremely talented.
Hmmm  Mozart?

They crucify you when you get it wrong
When things are fine they put you ahead
They laugh at you with your trousers down
They pick the stones and aim them at you're head
When you're alive, they won't care what you said
What you deserve and all the blood you bled

Doesn't matter what you try to hide
The sun comes out and then the truth is read
Your fans will love you while you're alive
But the wreaths are laid by the rest instead

When you're alive they won't care what you said
What you deserve and all the blood you bled
'Cause everybody loves you when you're dead

Kneel and pray by the side of your bed

And then everybody loves you when you're dead

Kneel and pray just like your momma said

Very sad, only 2 years older than me, great player and decent manager too.

Wow. Didn't know he was ill.

IIRC he signed for Chelsea just before the Kevin Morris benefit game (1996). He didn't play but was in the directors area. Not sure he left the hospitality rooms.  I think.

Vialli played and scored at the County Ground for Italy U21s vs England in April 1986. Classic Italian breakaway goal and classic muddy CG pitch.

Good find that, looks like Mancini and Donadoni also played, as did Walters for England.
