I've got Let The Right One In to watch for tomorrow. Have very high expectations, partly due to this thread but everyone seems to be talking it up.
Any film named after a Morrissey song has got to be good  Smiley
Hoping to get it from work Thursday.

Didn't live up to the hype for me. It got better as it went on, but the story is so slowly paced that I found myself checking my watch a few times (when there was no dialogue to follow). Disappointing.

Excellent film. Both funny and moving. Clint Eastwood was awesome in it.

Just watched Dark Corners. Its a horror film with Thora Birch in it. I watched it basically cos it had her in and I fancy her loads and I wanted to see what it was like. I suspected it might be crap and it was. The storyline was all muddled, the script was rubbish and the ending was bad. But hey, she looked good as usual.

Inside Man

Denzel, j Foster, Willem Defoe, clever bank robbery plot and even Clive Owen wasn't too wooden, although he does wear a mask for most of it. Worth a watch.

Just watched Slumdog Millionaire. Definitely worth the hype in my opinion.

Couldn't agree more.  Film of the year, easy.

just watched it (thankyou lovefilm free trial)

really impressed. nicely composed, perfect pace - though i can see why you found it slow - and enough unexpected events to surprise you at every turn.

the book elaborates on a lot more apparently, tempted to give it a go.

I agree. It is a cool film.

I got the extended cut a while ago but ended up selling it cos the original cut is actually a lot better. There is actually a disclaimer at the start where Ridley Scott says "this is not the director's cut... there a few extras scenes that people might find interesting..." basically saying the studio wanted to put out this version and he managed to get them to put this in so he can artistically distance himself. It's not that the extra bits are really shit it's just that they don't add much at all and they really disrupt the flow of the story.

Watched Adaptation. last night for the first time since seeing it at the cinema back in 2002.

I really like it but it's slow in places and I think many would give up on it.

Tonight, I will be mostly watching... The Pianist.
