Wright was a pivotal player for us in our promotion last season. He started off the season in mixed form, good on the ball, but questionable defending, but as the season went on his defending got better and he managed to contribute a lot going forward as well scoring 4 goals and assisting 9 which is very good for a centre half. I think missing that creativity and calmness on the ball in defence will be a big loss as he fits in very well with Scott's style of play.
Wright is the big one for me. A great player who I was unsure about when he arrived but now an integral part of the first team. Don’t want to imagine him not turning out for us next season. Offers so much and versatile with it.

On paper, seems a fairly decent swap in terms of allowing UGM to leave. Can’t particularly say I thought UGM was anything more than steady at this level. Wright (once again, on paper) looks a good addition.

Is this one actually 6 foot 3 though? or is that going to become the line about all our new signings!

Slightly odd one to get promoted with a team but turn down a deal to instead stay at the lower level, can't imagine in our constrained state we are paying more in L2 than Creepy are in L1?

This is all going very Flitcrofty. I don't particularly mean that as criticism, just a sharp change of approach from our last few seasons.

Here’s a signing I do remember playing against us, for Gillingham, and thinking that we needed a defender like that. He scored too. I would guess I was less impressed in the mauling we gave Crawley at home last year. Good signing again. With OGM appearing to be off, we still need CBs if we are to play a 3.

I made this very point in this thread on Friday. This season has a similar feeling to when Flitcroft was appointed.
Signing players who know L2 and have a fair bit of experience who play a certain way which is more direct and league 2'ey.
I am all for it if it makes us better defensively and still allows us to be fairly creative in attack and far less susceptible in defence to set peices and give us better attacking options at corners.
