Good enough for league one promotion chasing Wycombe, but not for us? Some peoples who doubt UGM need to give their head a wobble.

It's because he was part of the defence that was absolutely terrible last season that people seem to be so relaxed about him going. All a bit throwing the baby out with the bathwater in my opinion.

Absolutely possible to have 3 individually good players in that defence but the combination of the 3 be terrible. Poorly coached and set-up from the off. I feel had we signed Edwards, it still would have made no difference. FBT and UGM heading up to League One is no real shock to be honest.

Oh agreed. I hope UGM doesn't go. However it would be kind of amusing if UGM and FBT find themselves in League one next season on the back of our terrible defensive season. Just proves its the tactics/set up and where people are played more than anything else.

It’s easy to blame coaching and tactics which were pretty bad last season to be fair but FBT (and Dokes when playing RCB) made some horrific individual errors time and time again and that isn’t down to coaching

STFC only needed 3 additional decent players CB, DCM with a utility player and Dokes and FBT would have looked top notch. Hutton would have been OK. And Austin would have been OK also. STFC could easily be in div 3 this coming season

I think Dokes with two proper CB’s would be fine.
The problem at the start of last season was that we only had one defensive player in the team (Brewitt) and he wasn’t really up to the job.
Getting a decent Defensive midfielder is also going to help, so hoping Ofoborh can fulfil that role we just need another proper CB and some more quality to fill out the squad.

Brewitt wasn't up to it, but personally the bigger problem was the midfield balance last season under Flynn. Nobody was there to sit and help defensively. Even those that did sit, were ball recycle style players, not ball winners, back 3 protecting types. Anyway, onwards and hopefully upwards. I think we are still some way short ref recruiting personally. I'm also hoping that within this 24 they are not counting youths (Mcgregor, Dworzak, Johnson), and they are looking at moving some on (Aguiar, Cain, Uwakwe?) With the expected other youths of the keeper, Hart and Brown, we can't have those 9 in a 24 man squad and expect to achieve anything.

Not entirely sure I agree, the loan issue would still have hit come January - assuming Mourfuni didn't gamble and try to keep hold of/buy them. Personally I think the midfield wasn't up to it even with a CDM, and Austin looked gassed (though he was run into the ground). But it's all opinion isn't it

His misses is from Melksham, I can’t see him going to far.
And even when he was at FGR he had a house in Swindon, Rovers makes sense if it’s a deal like UGM/Lavinier last summer.

9th favourites to win the league currently and you don't see a poor bookie so they say. I'd be surprised if Wycombe were to struggle this season.
