I guess, a bit like Hutton you weigh up his lack of defensive ability with the things he was good at, bringing the ball out of defence with blistering pace and ability to beat men.

Maybe Kennedy would prefer defenders who can 'properly' defend. Personally I like him and would be disappointed to see him go, if true.

Well, if some guy on twitter said it…

I think Dokes would be at asset in a better, more stable team - either as a wing back or the (only) CB who is allowed to drive forward and join the midfield / attack

Yeah but 'I work with a lot of his close friends so I've been told he's going probably announced tomorrow'

Make of that what you will. Fwiw I agree with you about being an asset.

Would make sense then if we're looking at Brindley and Hoole.

It would be such a Swindon thing to do, replace a player from a poor defence with an aging player from an even worst defence. Don’t get this Brindley talk at all.

Hoole would make some sense, Brindley less so. Our defence was abysmal but Notts weren’t far off us so I wouldn’t be touching any of their defenders

Notts defence was worst than ours, worst in the league in fact.

Weird that all this close friends

1. Work at the same place it seems
2. Would all be aware of the fact he’s leaving
3. Would then announce it to their work mate before anything official has been published.

It screams Burton with the progressive recruitment they've done so far.

There was murmurs of a Scandinavian consortium interested in us at one point late last year, wonder if it's the same folks.

The idea of Dokes going back into a RCB position sends shivers down my spine. Was a better RB however, but he cant really defend. If Kennedy wants a solid defence, Dokes in a back three isnt the answer.

OGM would be a very good player surrounded by other capable defenders, in my opinion. No defender will look his best when he has different partners every week, and incoherent management. I’d prefer to keep him.

If we are signing Luca Hoole then we owe Rovers compensation. Can’t see us doing that if he won’t play.

Well I like Dokes and hope we can keep him. I think with some good defenders covering his runs he is a huge asset.

Probably move to Port Vale or Carlisle, one of the money clubs in L2.

He wants a move to L1 mate, perhaps some kind of swap deal with Hoole and Bristol Rovers?

If that is true (but money does talk and we have some heavy hitters in L2 this season still) then he deserves a bigger better club than Rovers, like Burton or Wycombe.
