Perfection is not attainable

Surely the loss of Young/Kemp and whoever else that may get sold is going to force Flynn to change tack re the style. He’s already said he wants to beef up the defence so bang goes a maraudering CB.

Maybe things will turn out for the best!

 Suicide Sofa
Or they will go and we will get 2 teenage players in to replace them of similar standard to Benn Ward on freebie loans and we carry on how we are but with less quality.

That seems the more feasible option to my negative doubting mind anyway.

In case you wanted to despair further...

Goals + Assists for STFC Players this season

Jake Young 20 (16/4)
Dan Kemp 20 (12/8)
Charlie Austin 12 (7/5)
Remeao Hutton 9 (1/8)
FBT 6 (2/4)
RHM 5 (4/1)
Saidou Khan (1/3)
Tyrese Shade 3 (2/1)
George McEachran 3 (0/3)
Jake Cain 2 (2/0)
UGM 1 (1/0)
Bennn Ward 1 (0/1)
Tariq Uwakwe 1 (0/1)

It's er... slim pickings after the top two.

Source: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/swindon-town/top-scorers/assists (also a good explanation of why we tolerate Hutton's defending - 59 chances created, more than all our midfielders bar Kemp combined)

Stating the obvious but a big issue with us doing everything on the cheap. A club properly committed to a resale model would have jumped on the opportunity and picked one or both of those up for small fees in the summer and now be sat on a very sellable asset that generates enough funds to reinvest into the squad in either Jan or the summer and move forward.

We’re now losing both for nothing and making other clubs a good payday whilst we continue to move backwards.

I'd not be remotely surprised if it turned out to be true. I'm fully expecting to the worst of everything right now until Clem and co go.

So to sum up what everyone expects based on recent posts against various threads:

Kemp/Young to depart back to their parent clubs
Khan/Hutton to be sold
3 or 4 kids that have made appearances to go to Champ/Prem acadamies
Kokolo to leave should he not be offered an extension
4 loans to come in from Champ/Prem yoot setups
Possible 10 point deduction..

How do you fail to get excited to be a Swindon Town FC Supporter, are you NOT entertained...

I'm struggling to think of a worse calendar year than this, in terms of both overall results and general "vibes". An absolute stinker.

This journey has just begun.

Hold on to your hats and enjoy the ride.

The good times for our magical club are coming.

Reckon Brewitt will be gone in January too.  Flynn tried to offload him in the summer as he didn't rate him but maybe his recent form changed Flynn's mind

Absolutely no facts to back this up, all a hunch but if he’s fit, I can see Clayton departing in Jan and then excelling somewhere else into the CB that we’re crying out for.

Or in the DCM position we've been crying out for.

Take your point but also very hindsighty.

Go back to August and most of us had Jake Young down as 3rd/4th choice striker. Don’t think even Positive McHappyClapper had Young down to be striker #1 & hitting nearly 20 goals on half a season.

Kemp a bit more of a known quality after a decent spell with Hartlepool but again did anyone thing back in August oh yeah Kemps going to be the best player in the entire division?

…loans are gambles. If they work short term then they are a ball ache long term for the reasons you’ve said yourself. If they are shit short term then they are easy to get out of and roll the dice again…
