Even the new Carlisle owners appear to have an immediate plan to take them forward mainly around the development of their ground and training facilities I think as well as some investment on the pitch to make them 'competitive' (shudder)

Yeah but some local scaffolders put an observation deck up at Beversbrook - Clems doing his best  Cheesy

It still makes me laugh that the owner of the club has a plumbing company and we cant even fix the shitters and get hot water in the bogs.

To be fair it would be a hell of a call out fee to get a plumber to come from Sydney.

Well, we are led to believe that one will be in attendance in a couple of weeks or so.

Unsurprisingly (I guess) Hutton is on Wrexham's radar. (I read it on another forum and is very much man in pub stuff but figured it worth sharing)

I’m no footballing tactician but would this work. 4-4-2

We need a CB that defends first and foremost - alongside Brewitt/Minturn. Add Hutton and Kokkolo for the back 4.

Push FBT and UGM into midfield, left and right, with Khan and Kemp in the middle.

2 up front - Young’s replacement with Austin/new striker.

Sorry, you want to play FBT and UGM as *wingers* ahead of Hutton and Kokolo? I think a few have suggested that sort of 4-4-2 but with the full backs and wingers the other way around. Apologies if that's what you mean and I've just misunderstood.

The 'problem' with 4-4-2 for us is that Kemp is a pure 10, he's not going to thrive in a central midfield two, and he's our best player by miles.

Sorry, yes the other way round. Might not be a problem when Kemp goes.

Then you play him just behind one out and out striker like Scholes behind Van Nistelrooy in Fergies United early 2000s.

i imagine that is why we got Kemp - he is tough to fit into a team at this level.  You really can only afford to play one other forward with him in the team and you likely need two holding midfielders behind him, especially if you play with two wide.  Like Anderson for us under Wellens - he worked because we had Grant behind him and at least one wide player who worked their arse off.  Then you look at Kemp and wonder if he has enough for a higher level, hence him getting sort of stuck.

Yeah - we couldn’t really do 442 currently, no place for Kemp.
Would have to be a 4411

Not against it - even suggested a few weeks back - I think.

We let 1 goal in with Minturn. Shipped another 3 without him.

It’s all very well Flynn bemoaning that we let too many goals in when he’s done Jack shit to sort it out. Christ, if we’ve got FBT trying to set up a chance right up by their corner flag it’s no wonder. It’s obvious now that the benefit of having 2 ball playing CBs is far outweighed by the defensive blunders that is the price to pay.

Is that known as a 'false 9'?
