McKirdy is rehabbing after heart surgery, I doubt he will be doing much in January - better staying where he is and working towards bench appearances.
Back out on the grass light training at Hibs apparently

Wakeling might be a more realistic discussion if he's still not playing.

Trouble is I'm not sure he is what we need if Young departs.
He’s playing, and scoring, for their U-21s.

4 goals in 7 games.

But it’s true. He’s not what we’d need to replace Young. God knows who would though - at least one we could afford.

I think Dan Kemp could be an option to play up front - Oh.

I wonder if we'll go back and offer even less for Josh Umerah in January. (to be fair his stock appears to be diminishing rapidly)

We'd take Wakeling back if Young stays.

We'd need a replacement for Young in addition if Young goes.

Alexander has already pretty much said in a press conference that Young is going back to Bradford in January.

Still not sure why we didn't agree to sell Wakeling and loan him for the season?...

I’d take Wakeling back.
Different attributes to Young but also capable of scoring goals.

I'd also have him back, but we would still need another forward, someone with physicality.  We won't, likely, get either.

We still miss precisely what we have missed since, well, for a long time.  A spine.  A proper defender, a proper midfield battler and a proper forward, so we can mix it up a little in League Two when needed, so we can hold on to a well earned lead and so we can stop being one dimensional (even if it was a good single dimension when it was working).

That was the minimum, that was what we need to have a competitive team for the top three, that's not a competitive squad still.  I'd argue we are five short in total for a sustained challenge (namely because we are so sparse in central defender cover and I don't count FBT as one).  We probably have a couple of LWB disasters going spare though.

Was that his first minutes for Posh.
