Yeah, I mean his goal tally for Plymouth in league 2 showed he is no mug but he just doesn't suit the way we play. Maybe Jody might tweak and make something work? Time will tell.

Plymouth fans did say it would be like this. In a 2 with Austin could suit. If the new man has any desire to do that is another question.

Problem will be shoehorning so many attacking players into a side that needs a defensive spine.

Yesterday being a prime example.

Even if we don't go 2 central strikers, Jephcott can have a big say this season without being pushed out wide. He'll get a lot of minutes replacing Austin as Austin isn't going to be playing 90 every game.

Austin was knackered with 20 mins left yesterday and could barely move for the last 10.

Totally agree, they tried yesterday and it didn't work for him. Jephcott will go on to be that player that we see do well elsewhere in the right formation and we all remember as being poor

The new Alex Revell.

Will score past us every chance he gets.

I think there is a player in Jephcott for certain, but hes not a wide striker and he need to get the ball, again yesterday we stopped threading balls throught o him as we did under Lindsey, virtually no striker can play without a service. Ironically the service improved 2nd half after he had already been subbed.

For me it has to be Austin or Jephcott i don't think they can be played together.

Only one way to find out Wink play them as a 2 and if it doesnt work then we move on. Jephcott always played best at muff alongside a bigger striker, might work, might not.

Yeah it's a weird one isn't it. Caine looks the type who can replace Reed but i know this will go against the grain but we need someone more disciplined than Khan sat infront of the defence, he is a good [player but he does cost us at times..  a lot

I just don't think we have the players for 2 up front. 4 2 3 1 for me all the way

We don't have a left hand side to be able to play 4-4-2 really, although I would like to see Hutton at right wing in such a formation.

That's the infuriating thing about Khan, lack of discipline and tries to do too much. Hopefully the new coaching setup will work for him
