My mystic lump predictions are therefore:

- We sell McD
- Keep FBT sign or retain on loan and maybe sign in summer
- Sign a perm central midfielder in early 20s (two if Dolo goes as well)
- Keep Willo at least until summer, longer if we go up. If we get a really good offer that might change but if so he'll be replaced.
- Sign a left back - Tomlinson maybe?
- Bring in a CB on loan.
I think I'd be happy at that given McDonald looks done.

I'd prefer an experienced CB and move FBT back to lb. But it's not going to happen is it.

well must keep Williams though.

it's Logan's Run of football

I'd like to think (hope) we have players lined up and ready to sign. Just need to balance the books somewhat first.

Agree it's going to be a crazy couple of days.

Be interesting to see if we loan any Chelsea kids too.

I really don't think it's anything to worry about, hardly any earth shattering gossip there. I would be hugely disappointed to lose Williams of course. We don't sign Austin and Morris doesn't agree to join if we're about to throw the season in the bin.

Worth bearing in mind that Mcdonald was signed on a 2 yr contract so if it isn't working out and someone has offered cash it's better to cash in rather than have him sat on the books for another 18 months.

Plus looking even more sensible if he is quite happy to spill his guts about the inner running of the club to randoms in the car park.

Maybe he was the best we could get in the summer, but now someone else has become available?

Always going to be a bit of weak link in possession, although I think he’s a very good defender.

I don't think anyone will disagree with him not being a ball player.

The club havnt been trying to push Williams out they've actually made it clear they wanna open contract talks.

The others I'm not suprised, MacDonald is a strange one. From what I hear his issue was we wouldn't sell to his prefered choice and now he's sulking.

Today shows we need to replace him though, I'm not convinced it has to be with experience but just someone good will do

So did he want out, or did we want him out DMC?

kind of puts a different slant on any sulking

From what I was told it was pretty mutual but now he isn't getting the club he wants it's us wanting him gone

We could do with an attacking left sided forward/winger type - not sold on anyone else paying that role.

I would love to see Lavinier pushed to right back where he belongs.  Hutton can be tried ahead of him as the other attacking player on the right.

Then we need a solid, physical midfielder - Khan cannot be relied on to have games like Grimsby every week.  Cain at least looks like a decent bits and pieces player in there with a decent touch and range of pass.

FBT to play left back and bring in a couple of central defenders.  I am OK with Clayton, but assume MacDonald is off and Brennan should be sent with him if we get those heads in.

I'd let Jephcott go back and use Wakeling as Austin's sub, maybe rotate when games come thick and fast.  Hepburn-Murphy can be used as an impact player when needed as well.
