Yeah I gotcha!

Obviously, I don't expect the board to hang onto one target and if others are ready and able to come in and at a level deemed good enough then great.

Indeed, I think he would be a great addition and most would say he can probably do it at L1 level also.

I think (in my own selfish admission), I just want Town out of this bloody bottom league and I'm sure I'm not alone in that admission. The potential in L1 is massive now. Even if you bob around in it for a few years, there are potentially more profits to extrapolate upon, with obviously the reward of going up again. But also there tends to be some well supported clubs that hang around in L1 for a few seasons now so of course TV and stadia revenues are typically higher. People say there's not much difference in L2 to L1 in terms of attendances but I think the above means there's certainly more teams who will bring big followings/sell their allocation; just not Fleetwood, Burton or Cambridge Wink

League 1 average is 10.5k league 2 is 4.9k.

Hate league 2 so much.

Transfer fees, media coverage, location of clubs, attendances, stadiums. The gap between the 2 leagues imo has never been bigger in terms of the above

Right, 38 hours to go in the window, what are we expecting?

Looks like MacDonald out on a perm, Adeloye & Roberts on loan. Anyone expecting a surprise?

No obvious names in, but you'd expect a centre back and a central midfielder. Maybe a left sided player too? We have two loan spots left to use.

Whatever happens we have to go in hard, take no prisoners and get out of L2

I’m hearing 2 very busy days. 4/5 incomings, expect our loan spots to become full. MacDonald gone (obviously) and another 1/2 may follow. Exciting times ahead just be patient guys!

Expect a couple of young perm signings like Cain in the positions we need and a couple of loans. That'll do for me

100% this. I would tie him down to a long contract, yes he will have off days but in the main he is one of the most reliable players at the club, and he does love it here.

Even on an off day, he’s still got that bit of class/magic to make something happen. 4 or 5 for me also on the basis Macdonald is off. Centre halves and Centre mids being priority, one attacker if possible.

Have to be thick as fuck to sell Williams now, only about us getting a small fee if we sell, fuck all to do with model, he wants to stay, and he’s our top scorer with 8. Kamikaze tactics to sell your top scorer with a day left in the window.

If you want to get the supporters onside for the project at this key moment,  you don't sell Williams.

Exactly. It’s really that simple. Like I said, model and spreadsheets can go out the window, it’s quite straight forward. When a player as good as him wants to stay, is your top scorer, and now has Austin infront of him, you don’t sell. Imagine you’ll find one or two that would defend it if it did happen though, always the way 😂

Just thought I’d mention the fact that Williams lives in Tunbridge Wells. That of course is close to Crawley in football terms.
