Looking at our new loanees vs our previous loanees made me think, I actually think we have done OK this window.

O'Brien is a definate improvement on Crichlow.

Barry is apparently an improvement on Gilbert.

Davison may be as good as Simpson given time, hes certainly more experienced even if a very different style to Simpson.

Tomlinson may or may not be as good as KKH and hes certainly more versatile than KKH being able to play LB or RB and is 2 footed and a decent set piece taker.

Cooper is said be very highly rated by Swansea and Wales and provides defensive cover for AK and Baudry.

We didn't lose any players that were under contract which is a bonus.

There are still options in the free agent market to fill any other positions deemed neccesary right up until March, personally I would like to see another option of a striker added, if Sam Baldock is indeed an option then he would be perfect as something different off the bench.

Pretty happy with the dealings this window.

The dealings look good on paper, certainly.

Hopefully that translates onto the pitch.
Despite a lot of differing of opinions Davison has big boots to fill imo

I agree, Simpson will for me be the hardest to replace out of the ex loanees, he started slowly but really grew into the role.

KKH was an obvious talent but he was not quite as effective defensively as he was offensively and his end product was not great.

I would think that even Hunt would have a similar end product to KKH although KKH would get into better positions than Hunt and more often, but he often wasted the chance.

Simpson for me is a huge loss and Davison will have to hit the ground running to make up for him.

Goals win games.

We know Simpson can get goals we don’t know if Davison can.
We know what KKH brings the table. Same for Crichlow.

Tomlinson & Cooper come with high regards and sound impressive…but…we’ve seen plenty of players come with good reviews and be utter gash (and vice versa)

We’ve gone from the known to the unknown, which is naturally always a gamble.
Fingers crossed one that pays off.

So, is Barry a McKirdy type replacement. Can’t see him being dropped so do both play?

Can we still loan our fringe players to non-league? Or is that avenue now closed?

Yes the loan window for non league stays open until March.

He is very similar to McKirdy yes, versatile winger/attacking midfilder/striker who can play with both feet and likes to run with the ball, somewhere between Payne and McKirdy.

So McKirdy (albeit one would expect better) without the whining, bookings and dubious social media

I cannot currently comment on his overall petulance, whining and bookings, we will soon find out though!
