Also see Steven Alzate. Many were incredibly wrong on him. Regular Premier League player for Brighton and recently recalled to the Colombia side. Might just be going to the World Cup too...  Even PB said he was a talented player. Slow burner but shame he got injured for Town. it's not exactly getting it wrong it's judging a swindon player in a swindon shirt at the current time. just because they have improved it doesn't mean that they were any better during games for us. |

Alzate oozed class at this level. I got into a bit of back amd forth with Reg after suggesting he was better than player I had seen in L2 that season. In the right hands, KKH will play plenty of Premier League games. Sometimes it's just obvious. I remember seeing Francis Jeffers play against our Youth team in the Cup semi final and telling an Everton fan they had a future star on their hands. He was playing a different game to everyone else on the pitch.

RE Simpson I did say I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back to us in the summer. Why would he want to stay at Ipswich who have absolutely shafted him. Feel sorry for him. I was critical of him but he was improving and was enjoying his football here. They’ve treated a 19 year old lad like shite

Nah, I got told he was signing last Monday. Haven't got a fucking clue what's going on with it now to be honest. No rush and maybe taking a further look. He has been training with us thus still could happen as out of contract. |

Can Ipswich trigger his extension without his agreement or without him signing it, though? If not, does he become a free agent? I imagine him not signing anything is his - or his agent’s - way of forcing through a move. Ipswich will get compo from whoever eventually signs him even if there is no fee involved. A lot of players currently at STFC are waiting to see what league we will be in next season before committing. |

I'm sure whatever Simpson plan is - better offer or elsewhere- he's taken that decision knitting the short term consequences.
can't blame the likes of Reed, Payne and Williams waiting, though it could also be the length and terms of contract are too restrictive under the embargo so we need to wait anyway
