Cant see Town fans taking to Pitman unless he gets off to a flying start. He's slow and lazy. Can score goals though so could fit in

You say slow and lazy well the later Wellens wouldn't put up with anyway so I'm sure he would be trying his hardest if he did sign for us

Pitman has never been known for his work rate during his entire career but he does know where the net is.

As you say our fans are not known for their patience with new signings, especially strikers, many Town fans were on the back of Fjortoft after his awful start for us but look how that one ended!

I’m sorry, I just cannot imagine anyone rocking up under RW tenure looking like Darrel the Barrel. Whoever turns up before the end of the window will have to be ready to go. Even Messi.

Wellens built this team on working hard from the front. Consider the effort Doyle and Yates put in pressuring defenders.

Not seen a lot of Pitman, but doesn't seem to be that sort of player.

How do we know Pitman hasn't got a six pack and that he hasn't lost a couple of stone!

Looks at Pitman’s insta. There are pics from June that look like he’s in pretty good shape

I still don't get the banana tweet. Is that to do with Pitman? I can't see a connection.
Is it because the Portsmouth badge looks like a banana?

Wellens has said himself that he did not want doyle working too hard.

He only wanted him sniffing around the box ready to get onto balls. Pitman seems EXACTLY that player.

That was referring to what he wanted from Doyle when we had the ball. He mentioned before, he didn't want him coming short to get the ball, or running the channels. Just be in the box and the team will give you chances.

Without the ball though, he very much had Doyle and everyone else working very hard to win the ball back.

It still disappoints me that many Swindon fans love to write a player off before they have even signed for us. But its always been like that so its no surprise.

I am confident that Wellens knows his targets and I have faith he will sign whatever player fits that jigsaw peice, whether we as fans agree or not, he is the boss.

Especially if we have a team behind the attackers creating chances at will.

I hadn't realised that Pitman had been 'released' by Pompey. I thought he was still there and any deal would be a loan - Along the same lines as had been discussed about Norwood.
