I know this has been asked before but I don't remember the answer, or if there was one. How reliable is this Boo character with his rather annoying cryptic clues? Quite accurate or generally full of shit.
And just for the record, I'm totally with you NMH, it's bloody annoying when any thread gets derailed but especially so when it's the rumours thread as that is the only one I'm interested in right now tbh...
Edit: I realize that 'BP' isn't particularly cryptic...
He’s usually pretty reliable in fairness to him. I’m not sure where he gets his info from though.

I think he's a scout.
I also think he's more of a 'this is what I've heard - take it or leave it type' than a 'this is definitely happening' type.
His cryptic leading people on can get tiring, though.

Pitman. Socks stay well and truly on feet. For someone resolutely optimistic about the Town, BP is underwhelming. Fingers crossed he’s back up and we get the main man in.

Are you serious? His goal scoring record is outstanding. Years Team Apps Goals2005–2010. Bournemouth. 173. (59) 2010–2013. Bristol City. 77. (20) 2012. Bournemouth (loan). 6 (3) 2013–2015. Bournemouth. 88 (34) 2015–2017. Ipswich Town. 61. (14) 2017–2020. Portsmouth. 81. (37)

There’s a group of strikers that *appear* (based on nothing but heresay) to be available at our level: Norwood, Sam Winnall, Pitman, Jordy Hiwula, Humphrys, maybe Will Grigg.
But there are clubs who have had windfalls recently, that can probably higher transfer fees and wages, and all seem to be after a striker. Oxford have put a bid in today for a striker who they believe is “as good as it gets” at this level. Rochdale supposedly had a bid rejected for Humprhys yesterday. Bristol Rovers have the Clarke-Harris money, Oxford have the Dickie money. We’ve not, so we’ll likely miss out on the better ones, unless they are prepared to get paid less, in exchange for Wellens “doing a Doyle” on them.
I posted almost exactly the same thing yesterday.

The only potential issue for me is the question mark over his age.
Other than that, he's a 1 in 2 striker at this level and has played a lot of his career in the Championship. His record is (considerably) better than Doyle's was.
Without a load of money to throw at players, I don't see how we can reasonably expect better.

You did and fans need to be realistic in their expectations as we simply don't have the money to compete with the ones you quoted

Will Keane mentioned.
Striker.
1 in 10 through his career
Linked last season in pre season and in January, never settled in Ipswich, Ipswich fans say hes one of the worst players that has ever played for them. Ticks lots of the boxes but there are better options out there.

I thought he was linked before but alarm bells are ringing as he's only played 20 games a season twice in his career

I would be very impressed with Pitman, as I said before his goals to start ratio even over the last 2 seasons has been excellent. He is exactly what we need IMO.

Can’t see how he would be underwhelming. My only concern would be his current fitness.
