If Byrne has been signed as a full back then it is an utterly bizzare addition.

His performance at Griffin Park in May would have put most clubs off him. An atrocious defender who looked far too lightweight for a defender in League 1.

He's hardly the first player to be out muscled by Clayton Donaldson mind. He is small but has potential and on the whole looked a decent player if a little one footed.

Best crosser we've had in ages other than Ritchie.

I'm not sure we saw enough of Byrne last season to really judge properly. As with Luongo I saw glimpses and I'm relatively happy to have him back. We do have small right backs in Caddis, Byrne and Barthram though don't we!!

Itching to see Pritchard.

Pritchard does look rather good. Lets hope for plenty of sluggish right backs in League One next year for him to make a fool of.

Happy with these signings. Excited to see Pritchard play.

How many Spurs players/ex-players is that now?

Thompson was a bit shit in cameo appearances the season before last so its too early to judge Bryne.  KMac has obviously seen something he likes and must see the potential, I think I'll trust his judgement on young players over anyone elses.

Potential there as a winger though.

Not having a go at Chang but do I see a pattern emerging here, the boo boys going to have it in for Nathan Byrne, it happened last year for Andy Williams - who subsequently lost all confidence!  Give everybody a chance to fail before we run them down.  I thought Byrne did a good job last season, he was signed at the last minute as one of our three emergency signings on deadline minute - or so it seemed - and got thrown in at the deep end in his first game owing to Thompson's season-ending injury.  Providing Nathan stays fit I can see him on the right hand side of midfield, possibly from the bench to start with.

Byrne wasn't that bad. In fact I didn't think he was bad at all, just a bit lightweight. At times what he lacked in physicality he made up for with technique. I'm intrigued to see how he fits in to the squad.

Why all the downers about Byrne?

Saw most of his games last season and there is a good footballer - just not at left back.

Move him up to fill the Ritchie role and he will be a real diamond.

Pritchard looks class - Spurs fans seem to think he should be knocking on their first team door this season or at least top end Championship - so for him to be at STFC is a bit of a coup.

I only hope the fact the team will be full of kids that the usual moaning fuckers will shut the fuck up in the stands and give them a chance

Byrne is not a midfield player. Being a good attacking fullback is different to being a winger. thought he did ok at full back last year. He gives us options at least

Call me old fashioned, but I like my full backs first and foremost to be able to defend and Byrne looked a little unsure of himself to me.

Good going forward and a decent cross, so pushing him further up should suit

Byrne looked decent at home but on the road was mainly awful. Doncaster, Sheffield United, Franchise, Brentford. Looked out of his depth in all of them. Wasn't at Scunthorpe but I know he cost us a goal there. On the flip side I remember against Crewe and Stevenage he was solid and put in some great crosses.

I rate him going forward and he has potential but just calling it as I see it and that is he isn't up to a defensive role in League 1.

Maybe Kmac thinks the same and will play him out wide but time will tell.
