I don't think anyone is suggesting Cox is a high earner, just unwanted at the club it would seem so its a wasted wage.
Hang on PV, he certainly wasn't wanted by PDC, but may just get a chance to prove himself in the autumn under KMac. To release him from his contract would mean paying him up in full.

I appreciate your point about not being given a chance by KMac and that may be so. As for paying up the contract fully....Roberts had his contract mutually terminated with no full pay up of it so if KMac does actually not want Cox (debatable of course) then that may be a possibility?

Well according to Sam we're about 800k off the 2.4m playing budget.
It's getting there.
That's pretty grim news...although suspected, we'd need to move 4 or 5 more on, the fact that nothing much is happening in that direction is a concern. The danger is we're going to end up with a very dysfuctioinal squad...bunch of fellas like Benson who doesn't want to be here...a bunch of last season's left overs with dodgy injury records and a sack load of Spurs kids, who may or may not be any good, but could produce 10/11 style cliques

Sam says we are currently at £3.2m, so we need to save the £800k.
After selling Flint, I expect this to be lower. What happen with this lira?

Any idea whats happening with Adam Rooney?
All gone quiet, but I would imagine if we've still got to lose £800,000 in wages, we've seen the last of him? That's pretty grim news...although suspected, we'd need to move 4 or 5 more on, the fact that nothing much is happening in that direction is a concern. With less than 4 weeks to the start of the season, we ought to have a fairly good idea of the overall squad, but it feels like there's still a lot of movement going to happen. At what point do we realistically need to see some form of settled squad?

I suppose as long as we can pay the wages until the end the the transfer window in August, then there's no need to panic. WE should have enough players to put out a team....the problem comes if we haven't managed to move on the last remaining high earners. Pompey managed to get through last season, by just having players on monthly contracts.

Read the list of currently contracted players. Assuming we're not paying the younger players a fortune, if we're still at a £3.2m wage bill some of those figures bandied about for what the high earners are on can't be that wide of the mark.
Certainly appreciate the task MacDonald and Power have to build a squad when it's anchored by these few players from the previous set up who are taking up a large chunk of the budget.

A striker, who didn't score a goal for the first 6 years of his career. Poor chap. That must have been pretty tough.
