According to the Brum forum Caddis signed on a year long loan not the 6 months reported on here.
It was year long. Originally reported as 6 months, but corrected to season long by the Adver - I sit next to a Birmingham fan at work, we had this conversation just the other day! This link confirms season long loan. http://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/sport/sportlatest/10131033.Caddis_poised_to_make_permanent_Birmingham_switch/The full-back, who joined the Championship outfit on a season-long loan in the summer, is....

Hopefully Austin goes somewhere for a small fortune, mind you if he keeps scoring and does not go till the summer then we will use the funds for the Championship campagne.
It won't be huge sums coming our way - even if he went for £10m we'd only get a few hundred thousand I believe. Invaluable and not to be sniffed at sure, but not a massive windfall that some still seem to hope for.

I had heard from reputable sauces it was between 20 and 25% of the profit of the deal...he left for £1.5m so if he went for £10m as you state we would have a cash windfall of approx £2m.

Yeh the noises from the board room were that it wouldn't be much. I was hoping for 20% and would have thought we should have put that in at the time.

Fair enough if that is indeed the case, I'd be happy to be mistaken here! I just remember Watkins saying expectations should be tempered for what we'll receive in the event of his transfer. Does some of the fee not still have to be passed to Poole also?

There was a knock on payment to Poole in there according to Watkins or Wray a small percentage but enough to keep them going, I understand the "small" figure was based upon if Charlie went for a (quoted at the time) £3m transfer fee....obviously the fee would be more the more Burnley get.

Thats very true. One of the reasons why many fees are "undisclosed" now.

No but presumably there's no reason he couldn't give an idea as to the % sell on we'll receive? Not unusual for that aspect of a transfer to be made public.

Would that not basically be the same as saying: "Yeah, we'll get shitloads"

Suppose so, depends how much he goes for though doesn't it? Personally don't see the big need to keep it under wraps. Anyway, we'll get what we get whenever he does move.

Me neither but that seems to be the way we and a lot of clubs do business nowadays. Don't think anyone will argue with your last sentence anyway.
