Anyway, we'll get what we get whenever he does move.
Yep thats it exactly, hes not our player any more and anything is a bonus.

Suppose so, depends how much he goes for though doesn't it? Personally don't see the big need to keep it under wraps. Anyway, we'll get what we get whenever he does move.

Because other teams will try to rip off teams they know have recently got a decent windfall in the transfer market.

Personally I would bet the sell-on to be better than implied by Watkins. I think they probably just want to dampen expectations from fans wanting it all to be re-invested in players. If it really is a poor sell-on for someone who we all knew had the potential to move on for a much bigger fee at a later stage of his career then someone wasn't doing their job properly at the time and the same goes for Morrison who, if we didn't get a good sell on clause for, got flogged a bit cheaply in my opinion.

Morrison was sold because a clause in his contract was triggered. There is no sell on fee.

They're probably trying to hide it from Paolo.

If Austin does move on and we get a fee, would that mean he would become our highest transfer fee received for a player? (I think Cox/Horlock went for £1.5m each)...I think Austin went for £1.2m originally then would any money we get after take that up or is it the fee we get at the time?

Possibly.  Was there no sell on fee for Nicky Summerbee (£1.3m to Man City)?

 Doh

I do remember that now you've mentioned that.

I hope our key players haven't got similar things written into their contract. Would be gutted to lose Fodders, Ferry, Ritchie in that manner.

Ritchie to Wolves rumoured on twitter. Nothing to suggest there's anything in it.

Yeah, £1.4M bid rumour. Plus a rumour of Ritchie to Charlton in exchange for Hollands + Cash Smiley

I think it would knacker our season to lose him, sometimes you have no choice though. Not saying there is anything in it mind.

I can't see us holding on to him for much longer, especially if we don't go up this season.

How long left on his contract?
