Always sell players at their peak value. Is Ferry really ever gonna be a 1mil+ player? If he could shoot maybe..

That's right, because every footballer need's to score goals to be any worth to the team.

Think you've missed the point slightly - if Ferry were not a self-confessed "jigsaw" I imagine he would be worth 1mil+ as Fola says - he's still an excellent player, but it would only benefit us if he had that extra string to his bow.

Maybe I'm still missing the point but Fola is suggesting that we have Ferry as his best. That means sell him and cream the cash.

I say FUCK OFF

Yes, i'm having a bad day

Fola is a troll.

Selling your best player is never a good idea.

If we're seriously valuing Ritchie at close to 2m then agreeing to sell Ferry for 750k would be ridiculous.

I think a few on here over rate Ferry quite a bit, a good League 1 player but we would be lucky to get back what we paid for him. £750k? Get real.

Really? It's all down to opinion I suppose but things really picked up for us last season when he was allowed to eventually play. I'm not saying it's all down to him but he certainly played an integral part.

So £750,000 not the going rate for good LGE1 players Hmmm.....very good LGE1 players like Cox and Austin went for double that.

Simon Ferry is an excellent League One player and you'd be hard pressed to find many better midfielders in this league. Could cut it in the Championship, no doubt.

Best midfielder we've had in years, easily....sadly classy ball playing midfielders seem to go un-noticed these days....

I agree, with certainly looked better with him in the side as he is a tidy footballer, but I just don't rate him as much more than a good League 1 player. It looks questionable if he will start this season with Miller and Navarro playing together in most of the friendlies. Signing Bostock and pairing him with Navarro would be ideal.

Leefer - Cox and Austin went for what I would say was fair value, I believe Austins original fee was only £1.2 million?

I'm not sure who the last League 1 or 2 midfielder was to go for anything like £750k but Ferry wouldn't fetch anything like that.

Agreed.
He just needs to add consistency to his game to become a very good player.

Chris...i take your point with the value but it is all subjective....depending on who wants to buy i suppose.

I would say after Caddis he's our most consistent player. I can't recall an "off day" by Ferry last season at all. Actually I can, the game after he shit himself he misplaced a pass or two.

Besides most discussion seems kind of moot, what with JJ already providing the source of the rumour - I also had a look at Brighton's forum and there's nothing there, so I think we all know it's bullshit.

Don't want him to go but don't agree about the championship, think he might struggle up there because of his size. Another thing to take into account is that Ferry and Caddis are best buddies, Ferry going could upset the apple cart with Caddis and we don't want that.

The young Charlton lad who went to Liverpool a season ago and has just been given a new contract after breaking into the first team at the end of the season, cant remember his name, must be my age.

If this more than a rumour I think we will take the £750,000 for him, that is a cracking return on what we paid for him and Caddis, and Caddis must be worth more than £1m.

Best player?  Girl Giggle He's good but he's not that good. League One is probably his level, if he could tackle and shoot better he would play in the championship no problem.
