I'd imagine thats what Iain Turners for, if Tans is right.

Tans is correct. Adver has reported it this morning.

Hines is an AMC and Turner is a keeper.

Got a good feeling about Hines.

Probably just what PDC is looking for, I can see us playing 4-4-1-1 quite a bit as with late last season. Him signing could end the chance of signing Bostock though

Makes me laugh how many people think swapping Bostock for Ferry would be a good idea. Bostock had a couple of good games right at the end and that's all a lot of people seem to remember.

They weren't even as a traditional midfielder either for fucks sake.

At least somebody was paying attention.

Hines is a very similar style to Bostock, a very attacking midfielder, so I think you are right.

As for Iain Turner I think he would be just what we need, very experienced ex Scotland U21 and B international, rated very highly in his early career while at Everton even though he hasnt played vast amount of first team games he has had good coaching all his career.

From the Coventry City Forum about Zavon Hines where he was on loan a couple of years ago....

Quote
i just think hines needs a decent run of games under his belt. He's quick, sharp, skillful, basically another nimely, yet he would be signed perminently unlike nimely.
His goalscoring record isn't good but just look at how many appearences he's made of the bench!
we need somebody with his pace in the side and if we can wrap a deal up for him then great!
i've been hoping for us to sign this lad for a while now and he's better than ranger so if true (and i'm not gonna get my hopes up) then great!

Quote
Wasn't he about 5 years old when we had him? He's since played well in the Premiership and gained U21I caps. Probably too good for us IMO, snap him up!

Quote
He was fast that is for sure. But given that he was touted as the next big thing at West Ham a few years ago, he must have screwed things up somehow.

Quote
I've watched him many times, hes another modern day footballer, athlete first footballer second.

Quote
He was superb for Zola in the prem @ 20-21 while west ham had serious injury troubles ,played out wide left ,very tricky ,quick ,effective ,then had a serious longterm injury .Sam tried to keep him last season but he walked as a free

So they seem to see him as a striker not at attacking midfielder.

Just hope the minimum 10k a week will be enough to convince him to sign. Turner will be decent back up at League 1 level too.

Swap Ferry for Bostock? Not in a million years, not just on playing ability but on character too. Every team needs a Ferry type character, always making you laugh, raising spirits etc, I am not saying Bostock is a cunt or anything like that but my guess would be Bostock would be more inclined to recite The New Testament to his team mates.

For me Ferry deserved his success with us last season, most of us thought he wouldn't be a Paolo type player, I think Paolo thought the same himself, but he worked hard, which is why he made 50 odd appearances for us last season.

Ferry and Miller/Navarro could boss league 1, I don't think Bostock could all the time we stick with 4-4-2

According to the Covvy forum....he turned down their offer of £3.5k per week.

So he must be on at least £10k! (disclaimer for all Poxford fans who ACTUALLY believe that)

I'm surprised to read that Iain Turner is only 28 years old.

He's exactly the sort of goalkeeper I, and most of us, expected Town to bring in.

Only a goalkeeper would be happy/content with less than 100 league appearances in 10 years of professional football.
