I liked him and thought that he did well for us - not so the bloke who sat in front of me and hated his every touch! As mentioned elsewhere until the very end he worked hard with both Cox and Austin, and the thirty goals he scored was a tremendous season for him, but I never thought is was likely to be repeated and so far that is how it appears.

looks like a bid of 2.5 mil by blackburn may have been accepted for cox.  are we expecting a (for example 30%) sell on fee on the profit made by west brom or on the overall cost?

i wonder how much we have made in add ons already from the sale of coxy, either way we should be expecting at least a couple of hundred thousand?

I heard it was a 25% sell on fee on the profit, but is that based on the inital fee or the final fee which would include extra for his international caps for Ireland?

Either was it is likely to be about £200k to us I would have thought, nice bit of money.

Sky just reported that Swansea are now in for Coxy. Should boost our coffers if this starts a bidding war.

I doubt it. Expect Jezza is currently sat in front of the telly glued to the Olympics with no idea what is happening in the outside world other than occasionally calling Nick W to bring him tea and cake.

The rumour hasn't gone down well on the Swansea forum.

Their fans don't fucking deserve him I hope he goes to Blackburn.

Truly hope this is not going to happen.
We can afford much better .

Can't see that being true myself. They do however have form for selling us duffers.

I would agree that we could do better than a striker who can't make it into the West Brom team

if he ait good enough for The BAGGIES he aint good enough for us.

Blackburn can have him in the Championship, and we can set our sights a bit higher with a gem from the Spanish Leagues at better value for money.

There no way we'll be getting Cox for 250k ,the baggies have a new manager in Clarke and the fee is likely to start at 2million ,this was said back in may when Rodgers was linked with him while still here.Birmingham are after him to and are said to have bid 2mil ,Given his record just don't seem woth it.Maybe it's his worth ethic and characteristics that tick all the boxes ,he might be a great hold up player who can create for michu ect .

Quote
Blackburn's offer was 500k in 3 installments, and then another 500k if they got to the Prem. He doesn't seem any better than Lita, or even Moore. If we're going to be signing a striker then there's no point unless he's similar or better standard than Graham.

Doesn't take long for fans to start sounding like wankers when a little success comes their way.  Blimey.  This is 'little Swansea' we're talking about!  Even now reading 'would agree that we could do better than a striker who can't make it into the West Brom team' from a Swans fans somehow doesn't seem right.

He's hardly set the Premiership alight has he? Obviously we know what he can do, those videos above are evidence of that.
Swansea fans probably don't know that much about him apart from he can't get into the West Brom side, so I can understand it from their point of view.
I personally think a top end Championship club would be better suited to him at this stage of his career so he can get a regular first team place.

What they and many don't seem to realise is that if he was a regular for West Brom then he'd probably cost closer to £7million (ala Long), he wouldn't want to leave for the back water of detelict industrial Wales plus doubtful the Taffy wankers would be able to afford him anyway.

Amazing...one season in the Prem, and they're a 'big' club.

I remember one game Coxy played against Swansea, where we had a player sent off early, yet he ran himself into the ground. Got a pen deep into injury time, and duly scored it.
