"A huge decision is looming for the new owner, let's start the new regime on a high and appoint a new manager who the fans can relate to. ....
For the club to move onwards we need a new face to love in dugout…. As the face that's there at the moment is simply not good enough for our Football Club."
Sound familiar - its the Motherwell website talking about Maurice Malpas.
But I'm sure he's just what we need.

well everyone seems to think that he will be appointed even though fitton said he has not made a decision yet.
Actually, he said yesterday that a decision had been made.

The fact that some of us are disappointed by the prospective name does not mean we won't get behind him if he becomes manager.
It also doesn't mean that because we have a different opinion to yours we lack 'intelligence and common sense'. it was a dig at bart et al, not you. i know the vast majority will get behind him but there's still a few about who would probably moan if we appointed arsene wenger.

At the end of the day Fitton will appoint someone he sees fit. An internet forum wont influence his decision. I will support whoever he does appoint, be it Malpas, Allen, Andy King  or whoever.

I still think this is just a rumour blown out of control but who ever Fitton gets in I will back 100%. Its quite clear we need some stability and we need someone permanent in charge. Fitton knows what he is doing and I trust whatever decision he makes. I think a few people are jumping the gun a bit with this.

I have to admit I would prefer a manager with some experience of Divisions 2 & 3, but I also have to admit to the irony of holding this opinion given my username. Sometimes you do need to take a chance, and sometimes the chance works out.
I mentioned MM's name to my wife, who hails from the west of Scotland, and she recognised it straight away. Ossie's just quit his job in Argentina

On the plus side if it is MM then we should get some decent jocks down , coupled with an assistant/DB's league knowledge it might be an advantage. however saying that its all speculation it still could be anybody

Paul Sturrock was unknown Dundee United legend with a shite managing record in Scotland before he came to Plymouth.
Therefore I think this Malpas bloke will be shit hot.
