Personally I am happy to have a club agreed. If it was about 10 years ago Malpas would be a relatively big names for a financially struggling league 1 club. It's just that he took on an impossible job and a few years have passed since he was quite well known. If he gets it, he should get the full backing of everyone. On experience, Wise knew fuck all about League 2, as did most of us, but he prepared a team that eventually went on to get automatic promotion only a few months after the end of one of our worst seasons ever.

Personally I am happy to have a club Spot on Ash, if all these anti-Malpass posters have a seizure through getting worked up about something they may know very little about the GWE will be quite full tonight. This, sadly, reminds me of the people who boo Pook and Sturrock at the mere mention of their name, in fact even booed the latter off the field after he had scored the goal which actually has kept us in the cup. It's all a matter of opinion but for fuck's sake give people the benefit of the doubt before they even start - if they start!

well said ronnie and others. nice to see some have some degree of intelligence and common sense at least. he didn't do well at motherwell, so what? sturrock didn't do well at southampton. if he gets appointed, so be it - get behind him. if he's shit i can't see fitton being the type to persevere with someone if it's clear he can't achieve what fitton is aiming for. personally i just hope he isn't another miserable jock like sturrock http://images.sportinglife.com/07/02/330/Malpas_196734.jpg

Only on recent reading but he didn't exactly take over at Motherwell under great circumstances, lost the backbone of the side during the summer all during a fair amount of off the pitch and financial turmoil at the Scotch club. It’s a bit rich to write him off but likewise he’s not the sort of appointment to go and plaster the radio about either.
You look at his record at that stage and he was a fairly inexperienced gaffer so it’s tough to judge him under those circumstances and at that point in his career. Alright the same may be said about good old Iffy but if he’s come with an endorsement and rings Fitton’s bell then he’s worth a shot and some support behind him.
Plus you never know with an unknown quantity if you have the next red faced Alex Furguson or the next supercilious (word of the day) Andrew King. On the basis that Ling is a write-off with Cotterill, Evans and co you’re hiring a manager that has inevitably been sacked, usually from several employers and usually with good reason after a fair crack at the whip. At least with Malpas it’s a handful of games under difficult conditions so who knows what he may pull out of his sack all over your face.

fitton has gone on record as saying that if we're not in the championship in 3 years, then he will have failed. that is some statement.
on the back of this, he is not going to appoint someone who he doesn't believe can achieve this goal, so if it is mozza who gets the job then it will be for good reason.
have some faith.
