thats a really good point Paul. i actually never thought of that! would we have to groundshare for the CG redevelopment or not?

Not under the plans the Trust put forward as you could do it a stand at a time, but that would be a lot more difficult if we were sharing the CG as the time windows available in which to do disruptive work would be negligible. ie in a normal season we'd have periods of 2-3 weeks when we didn't have a home game so you could do a lot in that time. Of course, seriously major work would still have to be done in close season, but without sharing the CG you get quite a few 2-3 week windows. If we're sharing with Wovers, we'd be lucky to get any, and the situation with adapting to two clubs using one ground would likely be pretty chaotic anyway without attempting to start the redev so it may delay start of work until they're gone.

And then there's whether having two years or whatever of Wovers fans causing aggro in town centre plus all the extra traffic etc would alienate local residents etc and run the risk of turning them against STFC's ground redev.

Do our council not look at the plans for Rovers' ground and wonder why they aren't being so forward thinking and, well, good?

I'm pretty sure if the Rovers plans were submitted for the CG they'd get a lot of positves said about them from people on the Council.  Maybe a desire for slightly less housing involved, but generally get the nod from all concerned due to the fact the footprint remains so tight to the current ground.

It's not the council the trust/consortium have a problem with dave. If a problem exists at all.
